Mecum’s Kissimmee, Florida auction sets the tone for the year. This year, it began on the 4th and will span through January 15 with automobilia, known by Mecum as Road Art, every single day. While the Road Art is fabulous, and there is an absolute ocean of it being offered, there are over 4,000 vehicles coming available too. It’s Disneyland for car aficionados. Road Art Monday, January 9th, is a dedicated Road Art day at Mecum Kissimmee, with more than 600 lots crossing the block beginning at 9 AM EST. Three collections headline Road Art Monday, McCalmon Museum Collection, featuring a Goodyear Tires single-sided porcelain sign, a Gillette Tires single-sided embossed tin sign and an Atlantic City steel pier single-sided tin sign; and The Gary Grieshaber Collection, featuring a Standard Red Crown Gasoline Wayne gas pump, a Shell Motor Oil double pump lubester and a Texaco Neon Clock. The third collection is The Bill Polverine Pump Plate Collection, featuring Assorted Gasoline Porcelain Signs, a 1950s Flying A Single-Sided Porcelain Pump Plate and a 1930s Eco Model 38 Air Meter. In addition to collections, Monday features other notable consignments including a working 1950s Coca-Cola Victor Cooler with Seats. This event is anticipated by lovers of neon signs, oil cans, gas pumps and more.
