Rare Garage Estate

Rare Garage Estate

We are a rarified group, we garagistas.  We save our money, stretch our credit, and do what we have to do to have the best garage we know how.  Some areas, though, are not as accommodating as others, especially high-impact areas like beach towns, or destination towns like mountain resorts.  One such place is Vail, Colorado.

Nestled high in the Rocky Mountains, almost smack in the middle of the state, Vail is a string of multiple villages that makes up a whole.  Looking like it was based on a fairytale, Vail is one of those whimsical places that simply takes your breath away.  With an abundance of privacy, outdoor living activities, shopping, dining, and, of course, during the season, some of the best skiing in the world, there are also plenty of places to escape the crowds and simply enjoy.  And at Christmas, few places can match Vail.  But, to buy a home there that accommodates cars and our passion – next to impossible. Enter Unique Vail Properties.

Listed as being a home like no other, I tend to agree.  Located in East Vail, remember what I said, Vail is a string of villages, this is a true estate with views and craftsmanship that’s hard to come by.  The pictures do it no justice.  It’s also got a remarkable garage.  A large space that allows for showcasing special interest vehicles away from UV rays, along with space for detailing and light mechanical work.  It’s got plenty of opportunities for decorating and making it your own as well, finished in light, neutral colors with plenty of overhead illumination.  In Vail, finding a property like this is earth shattering, and I wish I were in the tax bracket to afford it. See more about it below, and enjoy.  Maybe it’s just right for you.

The Garages

An upper garage is positioned between the second and third floors of the home, a heated, circular driveway leading to 9-foot-tall doors with massive bays behind them.  Each bay features a drain allowing for easier cleanups.  It’s the perfect place to park the daily drivers, kick off the shoes or boots, hang up the jackets, and head into the home.

And then there’s the lower garage

Measuring over 4,500-square-feet, the garage is capable of comfortably accommodating 12 cars.  Its finished floors, walls, and ceilings are all colored in light, neutral hues that reflect the overhead lighting very nicely.  While many of us might read “measuring over 4,500-square-feet” as a simple “wow” moment, keep in mind – this is Vail, Colorado.  It’s much more than a “wow” moment in Vail.  This is a town where most homes are lucky to have a single-car space.  Truly, this is a hyper rare property.

One section of the lower garage measures a healthy 22×32-foot and has a 12-foot-high ceiling.  Fully plumbed and piped, the lower garage also features a comfortable restroom and cabinet space.  Each section of the garage has spectacular overhead lighting, there is a television on the wall in one area, and all-in-all, this space is just itching for a motor enthusiast to move in and turn it into their private museum. Learn more about both garages here.

An Alpine Masterpiece

Attached to the garages is a home.  An estate, to be sure.  An heirloom property that families will cherish and look forward to visiting.  Designed and built by the seller, the original owner, the home has 5 massive bedrooms, 7.5 sizeable bathrooms, and surrounding views of the mountains.  Comprised of various materials and construction methods, the pictures and words simply do it no justice.

Absolutely engineered for entertaining, the main floor includes the spacious master suite, a private office, a large mudroom, full laundry, and a powder room.  One of the crowning moments of the home is the floor-to-ceiling four-sided stone fireplace flanked by the living room, dining room, gourmet kitchen, and billiard room.  An absolutely stunning way to anchor all the rooms.
