From Hollywood, with Love

If you’re a reader of Garage Style Magazine, you might recognize Tommy’s Place. It was once owned by Tom Sparks who largely pioneered renting cars to the film and television industry. He helped various productions locate and rent various difficult to find cars and even helped them create a few that didn’t exist. If you’ve seen a Hollywood film such as Tucker, the Man and His Dream, or Annie, or any number of other films from back in the day, you saw Tommy’s work. His garage is a place of astonishing amazement, a place where history is truly stuck in time. Take a peek and pay attention to the backgrounds. There are trillions of treasures at Tommy’s.

Frozen in time, Tom’s garage is an absolute wonder of the old ways of doing things. The scene no matter where you are in Tom’s place is a step back to a slower time.
A kind of mishmash of structures each building on another, Tom’s garage houses a number of cars and an infinite number of things. What’s not to love about this shot?
Between the house and the garage is a lovely patio that reflects Tom’s interests.
Having built hot rods aplenty, Tom’s garage was all-too well known in Southern California.
