A number of collections are offered exclusively online through Mecum On Time, but fans of die cast will be very interested in the Diane Jacquest Memorial Car Collection. Comprised of over 100 die cast cars, the Jacquest Collection is an exciting offering of unique, highly-detailed models from both the Franklin Mint and Danbury Mint. The collection spans a wide array of cars, including some very rare vehicles like the 1:24 scale 1939 Maybach Zepplin, a true collectible from Franklin Mint, number 936 of only 3500 made. See the collection here.
Offerings continue at On Time with the Miniature Marvels Die Cast and Scale Model Collection. Comprised of 99 lots, the collection features die cast models from a number of manufacturers like Franklin Mint, Solido, Maisto, Motor Max, AutoArt, and others, including various promo models. There’s even a huge swath of die cast farm, big rig, and construction equipment available. See them here.
Coming up May 14th, during the Indy sale, Mecum will bring a number of stunning vehicles and Road Art from the Thunder Dome Car Museum to market. A couple of interesting pieces include Lot Z552, a Ford Mustang display car with an infotainment screen. What started life as an actual 2010 Mustang has evolved into a roller display car that can be set up for simulator use. There’s also Lot Z547, a very cool single-sided neon sign reading “Auto Parts.” Presented in working condition, the red neon shines well off the black box.
