Growing up, the Scottsdale auctions took place smack on top of my birthday. I should pop over to Scottsdale one year and spend the birthday watching an auction or two. Hasn’t happened yet. Always the same reasons, not enough money, not enough time. Maybe someday. Then I find out, years later, that Mecum puts on a sale in Florida around the same time. I’ll get there someday. Someday, that toxic, poisonous word we all live by. Someday. Well, over the years, Mecum has grown their sale in Kissimmee, Florida into the largest collector car auction in the world. It spans 13 days and hosts an insane number of cars and automobilia. While I’ve long said I’ll go someday, I might make this the year, if for no other reason than the Chrysler Dealership Collection. Over 450 pieces of memorabilia and clocks and more promoting the Chrysler brand on offer. I’m not the biggest Chrysler fanatic in the world, but I have had my share of Mopars and – well, they’ve got a place in my heart. Then I realize – I can bid from the comfort of my living room, thanks to online bidding. Maybe that’s what I’ll do. Then again, Florida in January beats January in Texas. Take a peek and see what grabs your fancy!

The Chrysler Dealership Collection is set to offer hundreds of pieces in Kissimmee in January, perhaps the most impressive of which are the 100 vintage and pristine clocks. Coming in a variety of forms from spinners and marquees to rockers, neons and more, among the highlights are a Wolf’s Head Neon Spinner Clock, an Atlas Neon Clock, a Chrysler Plymouth Neon Spinner Clock and a Calendar Girl Neon Marquee Clock.
Offered via On Time, the collection offers an additional 143 lots. All of these items are already up for grabs and include vintage thermometers, tin and porcelain signs, hood ornaments, car bulb horns, scales, tire and carburetor displays, and even a selection of outboard motors
Heading up the wide-ranging RVM Classics: The Richard V. Munz Collection are a 1966 Ford 427 SOHC Cammer V-8 engine on an Easy-Run Engine Test Stand, a Ford Mercury Single-Sided Porcelain Neon Sign and a 1:4-scale 1946 Kurtis Kraft Midget Racer. These examples show the wide selection of various signs, gas pumps and automotive parts to jukeboxes, slot machines, a large assemblage of pedal cars and even a bumper car
