Lot 226 - 1973 Pontiac Trans Am SD-455
One of the most revered muscle cars of the era, the Pontiac Trans Am SD-455 was a special version of the HO-455, complete with a specially cast block with reinforced main bearing webs and valley ribs, a unique crankshaft and a lot more. The SD was a Super Duty engine indeed, built to endure the demands of racing over long periods of time at high speeds. Lot 11 - Boxed Packard Battery Cables Display Rack
It’s not the most valuable lot in the sale, it’s not likely even the most exciting, but it’s definitely very cool. Wall-mounted, the rack promoted Packard’s OEM battery cables as the superior choice for people maintaining their vehicles. Normally seen in fairly worn condition, this one presents in nearly new condition, complete with the original markings.
Lot 42 - Illuminated “Dingman’s Drugs, Soda, and Candy” Hanging Sign
If it could talk. Truly a gorgeous sign comprised of single-sided porcelain panels with lighted reverse-painted and milk glass panels and letters, each side of the sign has nine decorative porcelain panels. Normally hung outside an establishment, very few survive today, making this a remarkably rare opportunity.
Lot 60 - Rexall Dual-Trailer Friction Toy
A rare, Japanese-made toy from the 1950s, this big rig is made of lithographed tin. Listed as being in very good condition, promotional toys like this seldom survive and this is one of a few on offer at this sale.
Lot 161 - 1947 Packard Custom Super Clipper Sedan
A very important car in Packard history, the 1947 Custom Super Clipper aimed to return the brand to its normal position of premium car maker. While it relied a lot on prewar design and engineering, the fastback coupe helped lead the way in styling for the era. Riding for Kawasaki in 1981 and 1982, Eddie Lawson took back-to-back championships that made him a household name among motorcycle racers. These wins also solidified Kawasaki’s talents in building exceptional high-performance motorcycles, particularly when Lawson won four 500cc World Championships in Grand Prix racing. Kawasaki created the Eddie Lawson Replica (ELR) as a tribute to him and Kawasaki’s prowess.
