The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance has announced that it will be moving to the second Sunday beginning in August of 2028. Normally occurring on the third Sunday of the month, the Concours elected to reschedule the event to accommodate school schedules, which are starting earlier in increasing numbers across the nation. The Concours has received a number of requests for an earlier date from entrants, volunteers, spectators, and judges who have difficulty attending the event with their children.
“Parents want to share their love of cars with their kids, and we want to make that more possible,” said Sanda Button, chairman of the Concours.
The Concours will take place on August 16, 2026, August 15, 2027, August 13, 2028, August 12, 2029, and August 11, 2030. The first Concours occurred November 5, 1950, and landed on various dates until 1967 when it began recurring on the fourth Sunday of every August. In the 1990s, it was moved to the third Sunday. So, plan accordingly.
As a note – the Garage Style Magazine Monterey Garage Tour will very likely move to the Friday preceding the Concours.
