Bid Online at Broad Arrow

September 26 thru October 5, Broad Arrow Auctions will be hosting their Fall Online Memorabilia sale.  Recently posting their offerings at Classic Car Auctions, the Lots are especially intriguing for racing fans, but a few other items are sprinkled in as well.

Two items of particular interest are Lots 109 and 150.

Designed for the 2012 German Grand Prix, Lot 109 is a race-prepared Arai GP6-RC Sebastian Vettel helmet that was specially painted by Jens Munser Designs, better known as JMD.  In Formula 1, a driver can wear as many as 16 different helmets each season, and coming up with a new design for each race is challenging fun for the artists and the clients.  Over 46 Formula 1 drivers, many World Title Winners, have worn helmets styled by Munser, and each is its own individual work of art.  Sebastian Vettel got his first JMD helmet when he was 8-years-old when he was still racing carts.  Hugely collectible, even non motorsports enthusiasts might find these helmets interesting.  Learn more about it here.

Meanwhile too, Lot 150 is a pair of OMP gloves from Michael Schumacher’s first season with the Ferrari Formula One Team.  Both gloves are signed by Michael and dated inside “23.1.96 P.Ricard.”  Schumacher won five consecutive Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships between 2000 and 2004, and ultimately led Ferrari to 72 Grand Prix wins and seven world titles, making him the most successful driver in Ferrari’s history.  See the historic gloves here.
