Ferrari Fever has gripped the world again, with Mecum’s sale in Kissimmee, Florida of a very rare Ferrari 250 GTO and an amassment of Ferraris from the Bachman collection. This isn’t to mention the Ferraris sold by other auction houses at the end of 2025 and this first month of 2026. Incredible. Indeed, I’m taking my search for a Ferrari 308 or 328 more seriously than ever. I could kick myself for not having bought one sooner. Ironic advice here, but don’t listen to anyone but the little person inside you. They know what’s going on. Don’t listen to anyone else – because countless ‘in the know’ people ‘advised’ me not to buy a 308 or 328… “Too many built, they’ll never be worth anything,” they would say, and, “They’re not real Ferraris because to be an investment Ferrari, it has to be a V-12 car.” While I never buy for monetary gain, but rather spiritual enjoyment, when it comes to the price points that Ferraris command, it’s a good idea to make sure you can get some money back someday. Anyway – congratulations to everyone involved in buying and selling Ferraris over the past couple of months. They are leading the pack.
That said, in this issue, William Ross of the Exotic Car Marketplace recounts the journey of selling the GTO and the record setters of the Bachman collection at Mecum’s sale. We also take a look at a very cool book concerning the 250 TR, Bentley Blower, and a coffee pot. Yup, even a coffee pot. And, Mecum has some very cool pieces available; it’s well worth taking a peek at some of the signs and collectibles coming on offer at Las Vegas and at their On Time venue.
