As Collecting Goes

As Collecting Goes

It amazes me the things people collect.  One subscriber collects homes.  No kidding.  Cars are widely accepted as one of the most popular collectibles though, and this edition features a humdinger for sale.  A legend in many car circles, it’s priced nicely, been between two owners in the same family since the 1980s, and spent many of its years in the Southwest, avoiding rust and corrosion.  Check it out, the timing is perfect for a nearly-Spring project.

We also have a couple highlights from the upcoming Morphy Auction.  Scrolling their catalogue makes me wonder about refinancing the house to snap up some items.  Nicely, there are a few items that won’t break the bank, posters of paper, cardboard, and cloth that absolutely exemplify what I’ve been writing about for a while – expand your portfolio with these hyper-delicate collectibles.  They’ve been climbing in value for some time, and if nothing else, it’s amazing they’ve survived all these years.

Interestingly, I have a small library of original print ads from bygone days framed and ready to be hung.  Most of them are early Ford Mustang related, but there are many others.  While print ads and original sales brochures haven’t caught on just yet as valuable, they bring a lot of visual joy.

Enjoy this issue, and stay tuned for future editions, which will feature a few restoration shops and a couple of fantastic private garages.  Looking forward to showing them.  Thanks for stopping by!
