We’ve showcased quite a nice little number of events and companies in recent weeks selling and consigning various needful things for the automobilia collector – it’s been fun, and I hope you’re enjoying it too! I like to think it’s all in a day’s work, after all, don’t we all want to know where to find cool stuff? Recently though, the opportunities to go completely broke on cool stuff has been amazing, and we’ll be showcasing more in coming editions.
When we bought our house in Texas, I’m not sure my wife actually had a true sense of exactly how much stuff I had. She’d seen the storage units and she knew I’d been buying cool stuff, or junk as some call it, since I was a little kid hitting the swap meets at Saugus, Pomona, Long Beach, and so on – she frequently says, “you have too much stuff!” Now – that said, and this is true (thank you, Johnny Carson), I really have very little interest in buying anything else. So, we’re in luck there, because I really do have some cool stuff and I enjoy it. Of course, this reasoning never stops me, because I want more, and more cool stuff always finds me. But I need to figure out where all this stuff is going first. Maybe that’s why I keep reading the real estate section looking for a bigger house. On top of that, a black and gold ’73 Hurst/Olds recently found me, thanks to a friend in the Houston area who had no idea I’d wanted one for many years. Just what I need.
