As I write this, June is giving way to July and August will be here before we know it. I’m currently sitting in Orange County, California at the Ford dealership where my 2016 Ford Flex is getting new brakes and an alternator – turns out the rotors and alternator were original. The rear rotors had to be replaced, the fronts were okay being machined one more time, and the alternator was ready for retirement. So, here we sit. At 150,000 miles, I can’t complain. The Flex has been great, and I guess is now all set to complete the trip back home to Texas by way of Las Vegas and Phoenix. Then it’ll be off to South Bend, Indiana for the Concours at Copshaholm and a bunch of museums and private collections. Then it’s back to California for Monterey Car Week. It’s easy to forget about keeping your car clean while running around having fun, so I encourage you to keep it spruced up – few things worse than a dirty car, especially cruising into cars and coffee or a concours.
