Back-to-Back

Each year, the AACA Fall Meet, also known as the Hershey Swap Meet, takes place in October.  I’ve been twice and enjoyed it a great deal.  This year, I am hoping to go for a third time and buy more things I don’t need, but more importantly, enjoy the company of good friends who make the pilgrimage annually.

Interestingly, Morphy Auctions has long hosted their Automobilia and Petroliana sale just days before Hershey opens its gates, and I’ve long thought it’d be fun to visit the auction on the way to Hershey – after all, Morphy’s flagship office is in Denver, Pennsylvania, just about an hour away from Hershey.  It’d make for a perfect week – hit the auction, maybe bid on a couple of pieces, then head over to Hershey.

I’m actually very excited about the Morphy A&P sale this year, there are some fantastically amazing pieces coming on offer.  While a large number of Lots have caught my eye, it’s Lot 1152 that’s really piqued my interest.  It’s a tin Texaco road map rack from the 1930s complete with a few maps.  I already have a fairly large selection of Texaco maps from the 1950s and ’60s I keep on a bookshelf – they’d be much cooler in a rack on the wall in the garage, don’t you think?  Check out some of their other pieces below, or better yet, check out the 2025 Oct 4-5 Automobilia & Petroliana by Morphy Auctions – Catalog  Pre-bidding is going on now, so you might pop over and get Registered here. Or, maybe just meet me in Denver, Pennsylvania and bid in person!  Take a peek below, and thanks for stopping by!
