Ferraris and drag racing have little in common. High-powered engines and four wheels might be about it. But this edition of Garage Style Magazine brings them both together for the fun of it. Why not? If there’s one thing I’ve learned about us collector car guy types, we appreciate it all, even if we’re not supposed to – I state no names, but the Garage Tour has shown us all that Corvette guys and Porsche guys, Mustang guys and Camaro guys, Bugatti guys and Gulfstream guys all compare notes and get along great. So, why not Ferrari and drag racing?
There are a number of people around the world who’ve amassed some very impressive Ferrari collections. Garage Style has featured a few of them, and one that sadly escaped my pages is the Bachman Collection in Tennessee, USA. While the collection was impressive in the number of unique Ferrari automobiles within, the automobilia and petroliana may be even more impressive. Mecum will be selling it all during their event in Kissimmee, Florida January 6-18. See some of it below, maybe register and snap up a few pieces for yourself. It really is a shocking array of very cool stuff, heavily set in the Ferrari school.
On top of that, going full nostalgia, we have a visit from our old friend, Howard Koby, who takes us on a journey to Bakersfield, California where he snapped pictures and wrote up the 2025 “Hot Rod Hootnanny.” His column discusses some history of the sport and its evolution, a fun read.
