Morphy’s Automobilia and Petroliana Auction Coming Up

Morphy has long brought stunning items to the market from private collections that have been hidden away for decades, and their October 4 sale is looking to be no different.  Currently open for bidding online, the live event at Morphy’s facilities in Denver, Pennsylvania will round out the sale, and what a sale.  Two of our favorites are Lots 1278 and Lot 1636.

Lot 1278 is hugely special, an elderly Michelin Tire Rack with 14 individual “Michelin” signs, all worn beautifully but still spectacularly legible.  A metal tube frame makes up the rack itself, and while it could hold tires, it’d be a wonderful bookshelf too.  Install some metal or wood shelving and you’ve got a display rack like no other.

Lot 1636 is an Olympia Beer light-up sign with a spinning dial graphic lending the surfing image the illusion of movement.  Said to be in excellent condition, the sign boasts the overall sense of dark wood and is meant to sit on a flat surface.
