This single sided porcelain neon (SSPN) sign is the only known example and has exceptional color and gloss. It is believed this sign was likely displayed at the Manhattan showroom of John S. Inskip, the largest importer of Rolls-Royce automobiles in the United States from the late 1930's to the late 1960s. The sign was discovered while remodeling a Manhattan building and put in storage. The field has two tiny chips, smaller than an eraser, with some staining in areas of the white lettering. It has minor chipping at the insulator holes and neon standoffs. The sign is mounted on a bespoke Art Deco-styled can comprised of mirrored stainless, brass, and blackened steel and displays exceptionally well. The transformers and glass tubing are all new and the sign is in excellent working condition. Measures 27" x 106". Rated 9C by The Authentication Company (TAC #008368)
Lot 490 - Mohawk Gasoline Porcelain Paddle Sign
Double-sided porcelain (DSP) paddle sign that has excellent color and gloss. The display is very clean with light wear on the reverse. This is an extremely hard sign to find, and this is one of the best known examples. It displays exceptionally well on a custom-made bracket. Measures 14" x 17". Lot 493 - Early NOS 6-foot Ford Double-Sided Smaltz Punched Tin Sign
Incredible new old stock (NOS) double sided punched tin (DST) lighted smaltz sign on the original can. Both sides have age toning and some light rubs in the field. The perimeter of the sign has some light paint chipping in areas. Both sides of the sign have dust residue from storage. This piece is a time capsule. It retains the majority of its original smaltz. Lot 494 - Harley-Davidson Motorcycles DSPL Hood Sign
Double sided porcelain (DSP) lighted hood sign that consists of two single sided porcelain (SSP) signs with rolled edges. They are mounted to the original frame and lighted hood. Both sides have excellent color and gloss. Display has a chip in the "S" and some chips around the edges. Reverse has multiple chips in the field with one having a small hole in center. Measures 34" x 60". Rated 8.9 & 8.5 by The Authentication Company (TAC #041984).
Lot 511 - Harbor Petroleum SSP Sign
This iconic single sided porcelain (SSP) sign has very good color and gloss with a clean field and some light wear. It shows some areas of slight discoloration and a few factory flaws. There is some minor chipping along the perimeter with the majority of it being at the top right corner. It displays exceptionally well with the large aircraft graphic. This is a great example of this sign and would be hard to upgrade. Measures 39.25"x35". Rated 9 by The Authentication Company (TAC #042191).
Lot 492 - 8-Foot Ford Jubilee SSPN Sign
Multi-piece porcelain neon sign consisting of four single sided porcelain (SSP) signs. It has good color and gloss. The upper center portion "FORD" is clean with a small chip at a mounting screw and one to the left and right of this area on the edge. The side panels have some edge chips present with chipping at the screw mount holes. The lower Ford sign with the logo has some light staining and fade to the red. There are a few small chips to the mounting screw areas here. One of the most desirable Ford signs they ever produced. Displays exceptionally well and is in working condition. Lot 495 - 15-foot Allied Van Lines SSPN
Single sided porcelain (SSP) five-piece neon sign that has great color and gloss. Sign has touched up chips in the field with the majority being where the panels of the sign connect. Additional touched up area near an insulator in the center and another small area in the orange below the word "Nation". Great sign that displays very well. The truck wheels are animated. This sign was displayed on the Allied Van Lines building and is one of two known. Measures 60.5" x 179.5" x 9". Rated 8.5 by The Authentication Company (TAC #042088).
Lot 500 - Super Chevrolet Service Milk Glass Neon Porcelain Sign
Single sided porcelain (SSP) die cut milk glass neon sign that has excellent color and gloss. It has a few touched up chips in the field and around the "Service" lettering at the bottom. The lower horizontal milk glass has a crack. Mounted on the original metal can. Displays exceptionally well and is in working condition. Appears to have original milk glass with new neon tubing.
