Vicari to Sell Cadillac Design Prototype for Charity

Vicari to Sell Cadillac Design Prototype for Charity

Vicari Auction will have several remarkable vehicles on offer at their Oct. 4-7 event at the Mississippi Coast Convention Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.  One such vehicle is this 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Seville, proceeds from the sale of which will help to build an orphanage in Manila, Philippines through the organization Giving Hope NOLA.

It is believed to have been a General Motors design prototype, it is the only known 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Seville with quad headlamps.  This vehicle is elegant and has been beautifully restored and well preserved.  It has numerous fascinating design features besides the quad headlamps, such as the window trim scheme of the ’56 Castilian show car, and the rubber-tipped “Dagmar” bumper bombs that entered regular production for the 1957 model year.  It also has the original 365 CI V-8 engine, with dual four-barrel carburetors topped by the iconic batwing air cleaner.  Reported to run well, the engine is mated to a smooth-shifting Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
