Invest in Paper

Sounds like a nutty proposal, but it was one that Mike McCandless suggested a while back when we were talking about the prices of neons and porcelains skyrocketing off the charts and out of the range of most enthusiasts.  When he said it, I was a bit stumped and he explained that most paper products, point-of-purchase advertising cards, window cards, things like that, didn’t survive.  In fact, it’s likely fair to suggest that 97% of those pieces were discarded or lived a short, tattered life only to be discarded later, or chucked in a drawer to be beaten up as things went in and out of the drawer.  So, they are exceedingly rare, especially in mint or close-to-mint condition, and while it’s easy to reprint them in this day and age, originals are originals and command the highest dollar amount and respect.  Of course, they also require an exceptional amount of care, so keep that in mind, but since this discussion, I’ve been snooping around the auction houses and specialty shops like VintageAutoPosters.com to see what’s out there and it’s interesting, not only are the paper goods still fairly affordable, it’s easy to see they are a solid, unknown investment at this time.  Take a look at the post below I pulled off VintageAutoPosters.com and you’ll see what I mean.

As discussed above, paper products might be a great place to take a breather from the ever-rising costs of signs.  Tony Singer’s VintageAutoPoster.com has some spectacular original vintage paper pieces – one of my favorites was this Weber Carburetor window card.  The colors and graphics are stunning, the print quality likewise, and that’s what grabbed my attention.  It’s not cheap, but it’s nothing like the porcelain and neon is commanding – frame it and hang out, away from the sun, and you’ve got a stunning piece of original artwork.  Pretty cool, take a look here

Zymol Introduces $12 Ceramic Competitor

Priding itself on using a vast majority of all-natural ingredients, Zymol is once again on the cutting edge of car care products with their new Ceramid.

Zymol has not been shy reminding people that so-called ceramic coatings are nothing more than liquid polymers that can ultimately damage paintwork in the long run. As such, they created Ceramid, a lipid-based, spray-on product that can be used simply after washing the vehicle.

Zymol says the high-density, self-bonding concentrate creates a renewable cell membrane of eukaryotic cells without hard work or intense buffing. The end result is a durable barrier between the vehicle finish and environmental contaminants.  Learn more here and take advantage of the low $12 price ZYMOL CERAMID – BEYOND CERAMIC
