Monterey Car Week – 10 days, 37 Events

The last time Garage Style attended Monterey Car Week was in 2019. We had a spectacular Garage Tour and a wonderful time all around. Sadly, it would be the last time we would see the Mission Classic and the Concours on the Avenue, two of the best events Car Week ever knew. Both the Russo and Steele and Worldwide auction companies are absent from the Peninsula too. But not all is lost – where there is a need, the entrepreneurial spirit steps up and fills the gap. As Carmel residents rail against a new Concours on the Avenue, small events are popping up around town. Hagerty has asserted the new Broad Arrow Auction Company and taken on the Jet Center event. The Pasadera Golf Club arguably kicks off car week with their event the Thursday before car week, and Automobilia Monterey and the Downtown Monterey event launch Monday, along with Garage Style’s Garage Tour. And the standards remain, like auctions from Mecum, RM Sotheby’s, Gooding, and Bonhams; events like Concorso Italiano, Legends of the Autobahn, and, of course, the reason for the season – the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. If you haven’t been back since Covid, I recommend planning a return for 2024 – the GSM team hit 37 events this year in 10 days. There is indeed something for everyone.
