Letter from the Editor: Feeding Finishes, Just Like in the Olden Days
The Zymöl Wax Company came into being somewhere in the earliest part of the 1980s, with the founder, Chuck Bennett, bringing home a concoction of wax used on ancient coaches in Germany to decipher its chemical make-up and create something better to protect vehicle surfaces. Simplistic way to say it, but it’s true – and fascinating.

In a unique twist, the product used to protect the old coaches was, of course, all natural. Back when the coaches were new, there wasn’t much of a petroleum industry to speak of, let alone using petroleum products to create cleaners and protectant products. So, when Chuck went to work reverse engineering what the Germans were using to preserve the old coaches, scientist that he is, he stuck to what nature was already providing to make the product easier to use and certainly more palatable. The end result is a much more pleasant version of what was being used in Germany, a product that feeds finishes and protects them naturally.

In his own words, Chuck has more on the history of creating Zymöl and its environmentally friendly nature.
